Sanitree’s Holiday Gift Guide
Happy holiday season to all who celebrate! December seems to have slipped through our frosty fingers, but it is not over yet. We at Sanitree know that the holiday season can get stressful—big family gatherings, colder weather, and perhaps the worst of it all: the dreaded gift-giving season. But don't worry if you can’t wrap your head around what to gift your loved ones (or perhaps yourself), as Sanitree has created the perfect gift guide for you and your menstruating/feminist friends.
1) Sanitree Products
Of course, we had to include our amazing products first on the list! Not only are the Sanitree pads eco-friendly, but they also won't break the bank! You can choose from a wide range of products in beautiful patterns, such as the Reusable Cloth Day pad for £6 or the Reusable Cloth Night Pad for £8. Or, you can purchase a Pack of Two Reusable Day Pads for 14 pounds and keep one for yourself (treating yourself for the holiday season is a must). We highly recommend these pads as a thoughtful and practical gift that not only promotes eco-sustainability, but also supports the employment of women in Jaipur and raises awareness about period poverty.
2) Heating Pads
Heating pads are a lifesaver for almost all my menstruating friends. They come in various sizes and colors so that you can add personal flair to your gifts. Of course, you can purchase heating pads from many different sites and stores that fit different budgets and schedules, but we recommend the Pain Relief Heat Pads from the Wild Nettle Co for £19 (or just £9 for just the pad itself). These pads are made of 100% cotton and are completely reusable – all you need to do is pop the pad in the microwave, and voila! Plus this product supports a local Scottish company, and each pad is filled with Scottish-grown lavender.
3) Period-themed Jewelry
No gift guide is complete without a touch of kitsch! We love menstruation-based jewelry for a beautiful, delightfully on-the-nose gift. ETSY has many affordable and super cute options that support small-scale artists. From earrings to rings, a plethora of beautiful wearable artwork can help break the social stigma of period fear. We love these cute menstruation-themed earrings from VelvetBurritoDesign for $32. A stunning silver Mother Earth Ring for $24 also caught our eye as a perfect gift! It even looks like our Sanitree logo!
4) Chocolate
Who doesn't love a little bar of choccy when they are on their period? Chocolate makes the perfect gift– practical, universally loved, and always appreciated. Again, we recommend shopping locally to support small businesses during your holiday shopping. Bare Bones Chocolate is a women-owned chocolate brand from Glasgow that sells chocolates in various flavors and cocoa percentages. Not only is their chocolate simply delicious, but the bars are eco-friendly as the packaging is made from recycled or plant-based sources that are fully biodegradable! Their bars start at around £7, but if you want to spring a little extra, Bare Bones also has special holiday bundles, which include two chocolate bars, their homemade chocolate powder perfect for hot chocolate making, and a beautiful artisan tote bag for £30!
This holiday season, the variety of gift options is endless, but, remember– it’s the thought behind the present, not the price tag, that truly counts. We at Sanitree wanted to thank you (our amazing readers) for continuing to support the blog and the work we have accomplished this year. Wishing you and your loved ones a delighted holiday season!
